Children and Adolescents

Children and Adolescents

If your child is more fearful or hesitant than other children their age, they might benefit from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT helps children, adolescents, and their families understand anxiety and the things that feed it. Rise teaches children and adolescents how to face their fears with the support of the loving adults in their lives.

Current Offerings

Individual Psychotherapy

At Rise Center for OCD & Anxiety, we provide specialized, evidence-based care for children dealing with OCD and anxiety disorders. Our treatment approach focuses on exposure-based treatments, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which empower children to gradually face their fears in a safe, supportive setting. This method effectively reduces anxiety while building resilience. We also weave in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping children develop lifelong skills for embracing their emotions and making choices that reflect their values. By combining these proven approaches, we support both immediate symptom relief and long-term growth, guiding children and families toward brighter, more confident futures. Parent Support and Training

We recognize the vital role parents play in their child’s progress. Through tailored parent-based treatment programs including Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we equip caregivers with evidence-based strategies to help their child manage anxiety and OCD effectively, while helping them foster a balanced approach of warmth, structure, and encouragement. Using principles from SPACE, we guide parents in responding supportively to their child’s distress while gradually reducing accommodations that may unintentionally reinforce anxiety. PCIT provides real-time coaching to parents as they interact with their child, helping them build effective behavior management skills and strengthen their relationship. By making meaningful changes in their own responses, caregivers can create an environment that supports their child’s resilience and independence, promoting long-term success in managing anxiety.
