Rise Center for OCD and Anxiety contracts with Christina Foulon to provide in-person and virtual psychotherapy to adults with OCD, anxiety, and related disorders.

Christina Foulon, MEd, LPC, NCC is a licensed professional counselor born and raised in Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a double major in Religious Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012. After graduating, she spent a year biking for a cleaning service, an experience that sparked her interest in hoarding disorder.

In 2014, Christina moved to New Orleans and began her career in the nonprofit sector. She spent four years working in a residential treatment facility for individuals with substance use disorders while pursuing her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education, which she earned from the University of New Orleans in 2020. During this time, she developed a deep passion for working with marginalized individuals struggling with compulsive behaviors.

As a provisionally licensed counselor (PLPC), Christina gained experience in a variety of settings, including inpatient substance use treatment, intensive outpatient care, and at the Trauma Institute of New Orleans, where she worked with individuals diagnosed with trauma-related disorders. These experiences reinforced her strong belief in the transformative power of group therapy and the healing potential of shared experiences.

Since obtaining independent licensure, Christina has worked in both private practice and community health settings, counseling individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those facing homelessness and housing instability. With nearly a decade of experience in clinical mental health, she has developed a holistic approach to wellness, with a particular interest in the intersection of exercise, nutrition, neurodiversity, and social issues in mental health.

Outside of work, Christina enjoys biking around New Orleans, jogging in City Park, gardening, baking, and spending time with her children.
